Trilobite du schiste de Burgess (Burgess shale) by Martin Bertrand on Flickr.
The Burgess Shale is a place 8000 feet (2.4km) above sea level.
It is a shale outcrop about the length of a city block, containing an unrivaled array of fossils from soon after the moment when complex life burst forth in dazzling profusion - the famous Cambrian explosion.
It was found by Charles Doolittle Walcott, and it is like the holy grail of paleontology.
Here you can see a Trilobite found there.
